Berlin-Nagoya

Produced thanks to the Phyllis-Lambert Design Montreal grant, project Berlin-Nagoya features two pieces inspired by today’s accelerated mobility of people and information. A scarf and a dress have a second function as, respectively, a dress and a screen / bag. The Phyllis Lambert Design Montreal Grant is awarded to a project with an urban theme located in a UNESCO-designated City of Design. Two such cities are Berlin and Nagoya, both of which have also seen a major alteration of their urban environment, another theme taken up by Ying Gao’s work.
