A packaging is a protective envelope to slow down the accumulation of dust, to prevent breakage, to contain the parts of a whole. The Paper work clothing series - made of pattern papers and dry cleaning poly garment bags collected over the years - is an « upcycling » project. By bringing together the variable malleability of these materials with formal propositions that evoke a certain firmness, albeit fragile - think of porcelain and glass - the Paper work garments position the idea of a protective covering as a virtue that draws on an ambivalence: is it a hindrance? Is it an eventuality trapped in the heart of a concept, rendered obsolete? In the contradiction lies completeness.
